Regular Slotted Carton (RSC) is the most common and cheapest carton to manufacture.
There are no setup costs if you are using a plain carton. This carton can be printed or plain and can be made to almost any size and in any grade of cardboard. The regular slotted carton is the workhorse of the corrugated industry. They come already glued in flat pack style and are bundled for your convenience. Sizes of cartons (particularly plain cartons) can be changed with absolute ease and at no cost to you. All you need to do is tape the 4 flaps shut on the top and the bottom and your product is ready to be shipped.
Slotted Cardboard Boxes
There are a whole range of slotted cardboard boxes on the market for you to choose from.
The attraction for the customer is that slotted boxes do not require any extra expense in terms of tooling setup costs. This can in some cases save you thousands of dollars of setup costs. The other attraction of slotted cartons is you can easily change the size of your carton from run to run with no cost (unless your job is printed). This is particularly useful for customers who are starting out and don’t yet have an understanding of the multiples they will be mailing their products out in ie: 6 pack or 10 pack or 12 pack.
Slotted cartons are very versatile and can be manufactured to virtually any size you wish (within reason!!!). Nearly all slotted cartons are able to be printed should you require print to be an option on your packaging.
