Protecting Fresh Floral Arrangements for
Direct-to-Consumer Delivery

The TLDR (Too Long Didn’t Read) Version
Client: Boxed Bouquets is an Australian floral business specialising in fresh boxed bouquets for direct-to-consumer delivery, with a strong focus on bridal orders.
The Challenge: Fresh bouquets needed to be delivered to customers without damage, while still arriving beautifully presented for their big day. The packaging had to secure delicate floral arrangements, accommodate a vase within the same box, and perform reliably during delivery.
The Solution: A fully custom cardboard carton with an engineered internal structure to secure the bouquet and house the vase. The box was fully custom-printed and featured a heart-shaped die-cut window to showcase the flowers while keeping them protected.
The Outcome: A premium, retail-quality carton that protects fresh flowers in transit, elevates presentation on arrival, and allows Boxed Bouquets to confidently deliver bridal bouquets direct to customers.
About the Client
Boxed Bouquets is an Australian business offering curated boxed floral arrangements designed specifically for delivery. With bridal bouquets forming a key part of their range, timing and presentation are critical. Customers order online with the expectation that their flowers will arrive fresh, intact, and ready for their big day.
The Challenge
Delivering fresh flowers directly to customers presents a unique set of packaging challenges. Bouquets are fragile, sensitive to movement, and easily compromised during transport.
For Boxed Bouquets, the challenge was to create a carton that could fully protect a fresh bridal bouquet while also housing a vase in the same unit. The packaging needed to withstand courier handling, prevent movement or compression of the flowers, and still present as a premium product on arrival.
Standard flower boxes simply were not suitable for the level of protection or presentation required.
The Solution
Imperial Cartons designed a fully custom cardboard carton tailored to the specific requirements of Boxed Bouquets.
The internal structure was engineered to secure the bouquet in place, minimising movement during transit. A dedicated section beneath the bouquet was incorporated to hold the vase securely, ensuring all components arrived together and correctly positioned.
The carton was fully custom-printed using high-detail graphics to reflect the Boxed Bouquets look and feel. A heart-shaped die-cut window was integrated into the design, allowing the fresh flowers to be visible without opening the box, while still maintaining protection around the bouquet.
Careful board grade and flute selection ensured the carton could support the combined weight of the bouquet and vase, provide stacking strength, and perform reliably in a direct-to-consumer delivery environment.
The Results
The final packaging solution delivers both performance and presentation.

Bridal bouquets arrive secure, stable, and intact, with the vase neatly positioned beneath the flowers. The heart-shaped cut-out creates immediate visual impact on delivery, and the custom print elevates the overall unboxing experience.
Most importantly, Boxed Bouquets can now confidently offer bridal bouquets online, knowing each order will arrive protected, presented, and ready exactly when it is needed.
