Speedshield Technologies is an industry leader in innovative safety solutions for industrial vehicles. Their AiVA pedestrian detection system uses advanced AI technology to protect pedestrians in busy warehouse and distribution centre environments. By mounting directly onto forklifts, the AiVA camera alerts operators to the presence of pedestrians and intervenes to prevent accidents. As a company committed to workplace safety, Speedshield Technologies needed packaging that would protect this critical device during transit and ensure it arrived ready for use. 

The Challenge: Meeting Strict Drop-Test Standards 

Speedshield Technologies developed the AiVA camera, a cutting-edge, AI-enabled pedestrian detection system for forklifts. Imperial Cartons’ in-house design team worked closely with Speedshield Technologies to create a packaging insert that offered complete 360-degree protection. We selected a board grade strong enough to support the camera while effectively absorbing impact, ensuring it would pass the required drop test. 

The insert was designed to be simple to assemble, with no gluing or additional processes needed, making it both cost-effective and efficient for production. The entire solution was developed and manufactured in-house, maintaining full quality control from concept to completion.
