Nine Boxes. Nine Different Problems. Nine Solutions.

A project spotlight roundup.

No two projects are the same. That is something we say often at Imperial Cartons, and it is something we genuinely mean. Over the years we have worked with businesses of every size and across every kind of industry: food and beverage, automotive, retail, hospitality, collectibles and more, and each one has come to us with a different problem to solve. Some need a box that can withstand a long journey. Some need packaging that sells the product before it is even opened. Some need both. What follows is a look at nine projects that give a sense of the range of work we do, the kinds of challenges we help our clients navigate, and frankly, a few that were just a lot of fun to work on.

The Confectionist

The Confectionist makes handmade cookies and baked goods that are as much about presentation as they are about taste. Shipping that kind of product across the country without compromising the experience requires a box that does more than hold things together. We produced a fully printed custom shipper with detailed flexographic artwork that carries the brand's personality right through to the customer's door. The print is intricate, the branding is bold, and the box makes an impression before it is even opened.

Flexi Garden Frames

Flexi Garden Frames sell a modular garden system with multiple SKUs, and they needed retail-ready packaging that could work consistently across their entire range without blowing out production costs. We developed a full-colour printed carton using a single die line that adapts across the product range, keeping tooling efficient and branding consistent. The result is packaging that protects the product in transit and presents confidently on the shelf, including at Bunnings.

Ugly Vodka

UGLY Vodka is built around a strong ethos: taking imperfect, unwanted apples from the Goulburn Valley and turning them into a premium five-times distilled Australian vodka. The packaging needed to match that energy. The brief called for full, high-quality colour coverage across the entire carton, and the result is a solid purple box with bold orange typography that commands attention. Beyond the visual, the structural side of this project mattered just as much. Shipping six 700ml glass bottles is no small ask, so the board grade and structural design were built to handle the weight and protect the product throughout transit.

Pacemaker Exhaust

When Pacemaker Exhausts came to us needing just 75 cartons with premium print and exact sizing, most suppliers turned them away. Short-run orders with tight specifications can be difficult to place, but that is exactly the kind of challenge we are set up for. We delivered export-ready packaging built for strength and precision, with print quality that matched the brand's presentation standards. No minimum order quantity, no compromise on quality.

Sonora Foods

Sonora Foods have been a customer of ours for over 14 years, and the relationship is a good example of what long-term partnership looks like in practice. The cartons we produce for them ship product from Bendigo out to supermarkets and independent retailers across the country, so reliability is non-negotiable. Beyond getting the product there safely, the design also includes a perforated tear-away section that allows retailers to remove the top of the carton and display the product directly from the bottom of the box, a practical detail that makes life easier at the shelf end. As Sonora Foods CEO Steve Mallia said of working with Ash: "You're not just the owner. You're my relationship manager, which is something different."

WesEggs Free Range Eggs

Eggs are about as fragile as freight gets. WesEggs needed a custom shipping box capable of safely transporting 15 dozen pasture-raised, free-range eggs from farm to customer without incident. The box is printed with the WesEggs branding and carries a clean, considered look that reflects the quality of the product inside. The real work here was in getting the structural design right: a box that holds its form, protects its contents, and arrives in the same condition it left in.

Nando's Box'd Up

This project involved producing custom branded cartons for the Nando's Box'd Up range. The brief required a bold, functional box that carried the Nando's brand confidently while also being fully recyclable. The result is a kraft carton with strong dark print and graphic artwork wrapping the full exterior, practical packaging that still manages to look the part, for a brand everybody loves.

Bloomsberry Record Box

Bloomsberry is a chocolate brand known for putting as much thought into the packaging as the product itself. For this project, we produced a custom carton designed to look like a vintage hi-fi turntable. The flexographic print runs across the top and sides of the box, with the record player graphic on the lid and amplifier controls printed along the front face. The natural kraft board showing through the black ink gives the whole thing a warm, tactile quality that works well for a gift-style product. When packaging is part of the experience, the execution has to be right.

Welcome Stranger Collectibles

Welcome Stranger Collectibles ships trading cards, graded slabs and collectibles to customers around Australia, the kind of items that people care deeply about receiving in perfect condition. The box needed to be structurally sound enough to protect high-value contents in transit, but Welcome Stranger also have a strong personality as a brand, and that needed to come through. We produced a printed shipper with two distinct faces: the Welcome Stranger mark on one side, and the Pokeron Was Here graphic on the other. Same box, same print run, two completely different looks depending on which side you are looking at.

Every project on this list started with a conversation. Whether the challenge was structural, visual, a short run, or something we had not seen before, the process is always the same: we listen, we work through the options, and we find the right solution.
