The TLDR (Too Long Didn’t Read) Version
Client: Flexi Garden Frames®, an Australian business specialising in modular plant protection and support systems for home gardeners.
The Challenge: With national retail placement secured, their taped brown shipper wasn’t suitable for in-store presentation. They needed a packaging solution that was retail-ready, structurally sound, and scalable across multiple SKUs.
The Solution: Imperial Cartons replaced the shipper with a die-cut carton designed for strength and simplicity, upgraded the print to full offset litho, and created a single die-line for use across all variations.
The Outcome: Flexi Garden Frames® now has packaging that meets retail standards, protects the product, and presents the brand professionally, ready for shelf display across Australia.
About the Client
Flexi Garden Frames® is an Australian brand that created the world’s first modular plant support system. Designed to adapt to any garden size or plant type, their frames offer a reusable, flexible alternative to traditional stakes, making gardening simpler, more efficient, and more enjoyable.
The Challenge
Flexi Garden Frames designs portable plant protection systems that help home gardeners shield their plants from pests. The product is long and narrow, which makes structural packaging more complex. Until recently, the product was packed in a taped brown shipper. It worked for transport, but simply wasn’t suitable in retail environments.
The business had secured placement in major retailers, including Bunnings and Mitre 10. The product was ready, but the packaging wasn’t.
They needed a solution that would protect the product, look sharp on the shelf, and help the brand stand out in-store.
The Solution
We replaced the taped shipper with a die-cut carton, built for strength and simplicity. The new format suited the product’s shape and size while eliminating the need for tape, resulting in a cleaner and more professional finish.
Retail-Ready Print To support the transition into stores, we upgraded the printing to full offset litho. This allowed for high-quality photographic graphics that clearly communicate what the product is and how it works. No extra signage or explanation required.
Streamlined Across the Range Flexi Garden Frames produces eight variations of its core product. We designed a single structural die-line that could be used across all SKUs, with only the artwork changing per run. This created a consistent look on the shelf and helped streamline production. w, featured detailed imagery that reflected Pacemaker’s brand identity with precision.
The Results
The new cartons align with the standards of large retailers while maintaining the practical needs of the business. The structure protects the product. The print speaks to the customer. The overall solution reflects the quality of what’s inside the box.
